Lauren Cohan made her screen debut in the 2005 American romance film ‘Casanova’ directed by Lasse Hallström. The film received mixed reviews from critics and was a commercial failure. The following year, she starred as ‘Charlotte Higginson’ in the Mort Nathan-directed comedy film ‘Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj.’ The film opened to a negative critical reception and has a 7% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In 2007, she joined the cast of the American dark fantasy drama television series ‘Supernatural’ as ‘Bela Talbot.’ She starred in 6 episodes and remained a part of the show until 2008. She continued to star in television series like ‘Valentine’ (2008), ‘Life’ (2009), ‘Modern Family’ (2010), ‘The Vampire Diaries’ (2010-2012), and ‘Chuck’ (2011). In 2011, she grabbed the role of ‘Maggie Rhee (nee Greene)’ in the American post-apocalyptic horror television series ‘The Walking Dead’ developed by Frank Darabont. While she parted ways from the show in 2018, Cohan made a return to the series in 2020. That same year, she also portrayed ‘Martha Wayne’ in the Zack Snyder-directed American superhero film ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.’ The film had critics divided, with some praising the action sequences and story of the film while others called it grim and humorless. Nevertheless, the film managed to gross over $873.6 million on a budget of $250–300 million. She next starred in television series and films such as ‘Robot Chicken’ (2017), ‘All Eyez on Me’ (2017), ‘Mile 22’ (2018), ‘Whiskey Cavalier’ (2019), and ‘Invincible’ (2021). In 2022, she voiced ‘Julia Pennyworth’ in the American animated superhero film ‘Catwoman: Hunted’ directed by Shinsuke Terasawa. The film received an 80% approval score on Rotten Tomatoes.
