Elinor Donahue is an American actress who is best known for playing ‘Betty Anderson’ in the American sitcom ‘Father Knows Best’ (1954-60). Before starring in the show, Elinor had already made her film debut in the 1943 musical ‘Mister Big.’ Since then, she has appeared in more than 15 films including ‘And Now Tomorrow’ (1944), ‘Winter Wonderland’ (1946), ‘The Happy Years’ (1950), ‘Love is Better than Ever’ (1952) and ‘Pretty Woman’ (1990). Her last film appearance came in 2004 hit ‘The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.’ She made her TV debut in ‘Father Knows Best.’ She also played ‘Georgiana Balanger’ in popular TV sitcom ‘Dennis the Menace’ (1960). She had a recurring role in American situation comedy ‘The Andy Griffith Show’ (1960-61). She has appeared in several shows such as ‘The Odd Couple’ (1972-75), ‘The New Adventures of Beans Baxter’ (1987) and ‘Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman’ (1993-97).Â
