American actor, producer, and playwright Chazz Palminteri is best known for his role as Cheech in the American black comedy film ‘Bullets over Broadway’ (1994), for which he was nominated for an ‘Academy Award’ for ‘Best Supporting Actor.’
His highly rated performances on the big screen include ‘A Bronx Tale’ (1993), ‘The Usual Suspects’ (1995), ‘A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints’ (2006), and ‘Henry & Me’ (2014).
A few of his movies that did not do that well are ‘Oscar’ (1991), ‘Jade’ (1995), ‘Faithful’ (1996), ‘A Night at the Roxbury’ (1998), and ‘Little Man’ (2006).
Palminteri received positive reviews for directing the raw drama series ‘Oz’ (1999). His roles as Frank Rizzoli in the series ‘Rizzoli & Isles’ (2010 – 2014) and Shorty in ‘Modern Family’ (2010 – 2017) were appreciated by the audience. The series ‘Kojak’ (2005) and ‘Kevin Can Wait’ (2017) were, however, not as popular. He has written the script of Broadway plays ‘Human’ (2013) and ‘A Bronx Tale’ (2016), and also performed in them.
