Peter Stormare made his debut in the 1978 Swedish crime film ‘The Score’ directed by Christer Dahl. In 1982, he appeared in the period drama film ‘Fanny and Alexander’ where he played the role of a prisoner. The film received mostly positive reviews from critics. In 1984, he joined the cast of the drama television series, ‘Träpatronerna.’ He played the role of ‘Bokhållaren’ and remained a part of the series until 1988. He next appeared in films like ‘Awakenings’ (1990), ‘Freud flyttar hemifrån…’ (1991), ‘Reflections in a Dark Sky’ (1991), and ‘Damage’ (1992). In 2008, he starred as ‘Arthur Grimsley’ in the American comedy crime film ‘Witless Protection’ directed by Charles Robert Carner. The film was panned by critics and was a box office bomb. The following year, he was seen in the psychological thriller film ‘The Killing Room’ where he played the role of ‘Dr. Phillips.’ The film received a positive response from critics with Larry Carroll of MTV calling it the “Best Movie.” He next appeared in television series and shows such as ‘Hawaii Five-0’ (2010), ‘Ben 10: Ultimate Alien’ (2011), ‘Leverage’ (2011), ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ (2012), ‘Phineas and Ferb’ (2013), ‘Psych’ (2014), ‘Arrow’ (2014-2015), ‘Longmire’ (2014-2017), ‘Swedish Dicks’ (2016-2018), ‘Milo Murphy's Law’ (2017-2018), ‘American Gods’ (2018-2021), ‘Castlevania’ (2018), and ‘Animaniacs’ (2020).
Stormare was last seen in the 2021 American adult animated drama film ‘Cryptozoo’ directed by Dash Shaw. The film was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and earned praise from critics. He is all set to appear in the upcoming American action-thriller film ‘Muti’ directed by George Gallo.
