Ben Gazzara was an American actor and director. He was best known for starring as ‘Paul Bryan’ in the TV series ‘Run for Your Life’ (1965–1968), for which he earned three ‘Golden Globe’ nominations and won two ‘Emmy Awards.’ He started as a guest-star on shows such as ‘Treasury Men in Action’ (1950-51), ‘Danger’ (1951-1955), and ‘Medallion Theatre’ (1953-54), before tasting ‘Broadway’ success in ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’ (1955–56). He made his film debut in the noir film ‘The Strange One’ (1957). He achieved massive success in his second film, ‘Anatomy of a Murder’ (1959). His other popular films are ‘The Captive City’ (1962), ‘A Rage to Live’ (1965), ‘Capone’ (1975), ‘Saint Jack’ (1979), ‘The Big Lebowski’ (1998), and ‘Dogville’ (2003). His final film role came in the 2011 film ‘Ristabbànna.’ Some of his TV shows include ‘Justice’ (1954) and ‘Arrest and Trial’ (1963-64).
