Lyle Lovett is an American singer- songwriter, record producer and actor. His first screen appearance on screen was in the TV movie ‘Bill: On His Own’ (1983). This was followed by his roles in the hit films 'The Player' (1992) and 'Short Cuts' (1993). The actor then went to star in the movies 'Bastard Out of Carolina' (1996),'The Opposite of Sex' (1998), 'Cookie's Fortune' (1999), 'The New Guy' (2002),'The Open Road' (2008) and 'Angels Sing' (2013).
Some of his films that have not done well at the box office are 'Prêt-à-Porter' (1994), 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' (1998) and 'Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story' (2007). On television, he has featured in the dramas 'Mad About You' (1995), 'Penn & Teller's Sin City Spectacular' (1999), 'Dharma and Greg' (2000), 'Brothers and Sisters' (2007), 'Castle' (2010), 'The Bridge' (2013-14), 'Life in Pieces' (2017).
Lovett has also appeared as a song performer in many TV shows such as 'Always' (1989), 'The Crying Game' (1992), 'The Firm' (1993), 'With Honors' (1994), 'Beverly Hills, 90210' (1995), 'The Apostle' (1997), 'Clay Pigeons' (1998), 'For Love of the Game' (1999), 'The Interpreter' (2005), 'Walk Hard' (2007) and 'Still Alice' (2014).
