Chris Parnell first appeared on screen in 1996 in the sitcom television series ‘Hope & Gloria.’That same year, he also made his film debut in the Christmas family comedy film ‘Jingle All the Way.’ The film opened to negative reviews from critics but managed to become a commercial success. After making small appearances in television series and shows such as ‘Seinfeld’ (1997), ‘The Jamie Foxx Show’ (1997), ‘Union Square’ (1998), and ‘Conrad Bloom’ (1998), Parnell joined the late-night live television sketch comedy and variety show ‘Saturday Night Live.’ He appeared in 148 episodes and earned great praise for his performance.
Parnell went on to appear in television shows like ‘TV Funhouse’ (2001), ‘Ed’ (2002), and ‘As Told by Ginger’ before starring as ‘Dr. Leo Spaceman’ in the satirical television sitcom ‘30 Rock’ in 2006. He remained a part of the show until 2013. In 2007, Parnell joined the main voice cast of children’s Flash-animated superhero television series ‘WordGirl.’ He was next seen in ‘Kröd Mändoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire’ (2009), ‘Better Off Ted’ (2010), ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ (2011), ‘Electric City’ (2012), ‘BoJack Horseman’ (2014), ‘TripTank’ (2014-2016), ‘Dawn of the Croods’ (2015-2016), ‘Great News’ (2017), and ‘M.O.D.O.K.’ (2021).
Apart from television, Parnell has also starred in many films like ‘Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy ‘ (2004), ‘Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story’ (2007), ‘21 Jump Street’ (2012), ‘Hotel Transylvania’ (2012), ‘Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation’ (2018), and ‘Home Sweet Home Alone’ (2021).
He currently voices different characters in animated television shows like ‘Archer,’ ‘Tayo the Little Bus,’ ‘Rick and Morty,’ ‘Elena of Avalor,’ and ‘American Dad!’ Parnell will be next seen in the upcoming comedy film ‘Senior Year,’ directed by Alex Hardcastle.
