Ted Danson made his debut with the television soap opera ‘Somerset’ in 1975. That same year, he starred in another soap opera television series named ‘The Doctors’ where he played the role of ‘Dr. Chuck Weldon.’ He returned to the show as ‘Mitch Pierson’ in 1977. The year 1979 proved to be quite favorable for Danson. He first starred as ‘Major Collings’ in the superhero television series ‘The Amazing Spider-Man.’ This was the first live-action television series based around the Marvel superhero ‘Spiderman.’ That same year, he was also seen in other popular television series such as ‘Mrs. Columbo,’ ‘Trapper John, M.D,’ ‘B. J. and the Bear,’ and ‘The French Atlantic Affair.’ In 1979, Danson also made his film debut in the Harold Becker-directed crime drama film ‘The Onion Field.’  Â
In 1982, Ted Danson got his career breakthrough role as ‘Sam Malone,’ a former baseball player and bartender on the NBC sitcom ‘Cheers.’ He earned critical acclaim for his role and 9 ‘Primetime Emmy Award’ nominations out of which he won 2. He also won 3 ‘Golden Globe Awards’ for his performance on the show.Â
Danson went on to appear in television films and shows such as ‘Something About Amelia’ (1984), ‘When the Bough Breaks’ (1986), ‘Mickey's 60th Birthday’ (1988), ‘Saturday Night Live’ (1989), ‘The Earth Day Special’ (1990), ‘The Simpsons’ (1994), and ‘Frasier’ (1995).Â
In 1996, Danson appeared in the television sitcom ‘Ink’ where he played the role of ‘Mike Logan.’ The show aired its last episode in May 1997. He then appeared in television series like ‘Becker’ (1998), ‘Thanks of a Grateful Nation’ (1998), ‘Veronica's Closet’ (1998), and ‘Diagnosis: Murder’ (1999). In the year 2000, Ted Danson joined the television sitcom ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm.’ He still appears on the show and is seen playing the role of ‘Ted Danson.’ Ted also starred in several other television series, such as ‘Gary the Rat’ (2003), ‘Heist’ (2006), ‘Help Me Help You’ (2006-2007), ‘Damages’ (2007-2010), ‘Bored to Death’ (2009-2011), ‘CSI: Cyber’ (2015-2016), and ‘The Good Place’ (2016-2020).
Ted Danson has also featured in several other films, including ‘Body Heat’ (1981), ‘Creepshow’ (1982), ‘Little Treasure’ (1985), ‘A Fine Mess’(1986), ‘Three Men and a Baby’ (1987), ‘Cousins’ (1989), ‘Three Men and a Little Lady’ (1990), ‘The Human Contract’ (2008), and ‘Hearts Beat Loud’ (2018)
Ted Danson appears in the television sitcom series ‘Mr. Mayor,’ where he is currently seen playing the role of ‘Mayor Neil Bremer.’Â
