Harold Holbrook Jr., popularly known as Hal Holbrook, is an American actor, director, and writer, best known for his role as ‘Deep Throat’ in the 1976 film ‘All the President’s Men.’ His other films include ‘The Fog’ (1980), ‘Wall Street’ (1987), ‘Men of Honor’ (2000), ‘Into the Wild’ (2007), ‘Lincoln’ (2012), ‘Blackway’ (2015). As a TV actor, he has appeared in shows such as ‘The Bold Ones: The Senator’ (1970-71), ‘Carl Sandburg's Lincoln’ (1974-76), ’Designing Women’ (1986-89), ‘Evening Shade’ (1990-94) ‘ER’ (2008), and ‘Sons of Anarchy’ (2010, 2014).Â
His portrayal of ‘Mark Twain’ in a one-man stage show, in 1954, earned him a lot of praise and recognition.Â
