Michael Moriarty is an American-Canadian actor and jazz musician. He is best known for his role as ‘Erik Dorf’ in the TV miniseries ‘Holocaust’ (1978) for which he won an ‘Emmy Award’ and ‘Golden Globe Award.’ He also played ‘Benjamin Stone’ on the TV series ‘Law & Order’ (1990-94). He made his film debut in the 1971 film ‘My Old Man’s Place.’ Some of his successful films are ‘Hickey & Boggs’ (1972), ‘The Last Detail’ (1973), ‘The Sound of Murder’ (1982), ‘The Hanoi Hilton’ (1987), ‘Broken Silence’ (1995), ‘Courage Under Fire’ (1996), ‘Along Came a Spider’ (2001), and ‘Neverwas’ (2005). His unsuccessful films include ‘Reborn’ (1981), ‘Full Fathom Five’ (1990), ‘The Art of Murder’ (1999), and ‘Hitler Meets Christ’ (2007). He has also appeared on many TV series, such as ‘The Equalizer’ (1987-89), ‘The Outer Limits’ (2000), and ‘Masters of Horror’ (2006).
