In a career spanning over sixty years, Harry Dean Stanton appeared in a variety of indie and cult films, besides the mainstream Hollywood productions.
‘Inner Sanctum’ marked his television debut in 1954. He made his film debut with ‘Tomahawk Trail’ in 1957.
He gained prominence with ‘Paris, Texas,’ where he played the lead. Some of his noteworthy film credits include, ‘Kelly's Heroes,’ ‘Inland Empire,’ ‘The Godfather Part II,’ ‘The Last Temptation of Christ,’ ‘Cool Hand Luke,’ ‘The Green Mile,’ ‘Pretty in Pink,’ ‘The Straight Story,’ ‘Lucky,’ ‘Christine,’ ‘Dillinger,’ ‘Wild at Heart,’ ‘Escape from New York,’ ‘Alpha Dog,’ ‘Repo Man,’ and ‘Alien,’ besides various others.
He also appeared in a number of television shows, including ‘Gunsmoke,’ ‘The Untouchables,’ ‘Rawhide,’ ‘Two and a Half Men,’ ‘Bonanza,’ and ‘The Rifleman.’ He was also seen doing a brief cameo in ‘Seven Psychopaths,’ and ‘The Avengers.’
