George Harris Kennedy, Jr. was an American actor, best known for playing ‘Paul Newman’ in ‘Cool Hand Luke’ (1967) and ‘Joe Patroni’ in ‘Airport’ (1970). He won the ‘Academy Award’ for ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for his performance in ‘Cool Hand Luke’ and received the ‘Golden Globe’ nomination for both the aforementioned films. George made his screen debut in the 1961 film ‘The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come.’ He made his TV debut in ‘The Phil Silvers Show’ (1956-1959). His popular TV shows, include ‘McHale's Navy’ (1963-1964), ‘Sarge’ (1971), ‘The Blue Knight’ (1975), ‘Dallas’ (1988-1991), and ‘The Young and the Restless’ (2010). Some of his successful films are ‘Mirage’ (1965), ‘Bandolero!’ (1968), ‘Day of Resurrection’ (1980), ‘Don’t Come Knocking’ (2005), ‘Another Happy Day’ (2011), and ‘The Gambler’ (2014). His unsuccessful films include ‘Gaily, Gaily’ (1969), ‘Death Ship’ (1980), ‘Rigged’ (1985), ‘River of Stone’ (1994), and ‘Three Bad Men’ (2005).
