Jim Brown is a retired American football player and actor. Considered to be one of the greatest NFL players and a ‘Cleveland Browns legend’, he delved into acting right before his final season in 1964. He made his acting debut portraying a buffalo soldier in ‘Rio Conchos’ (1964).
His second movie ‘The Dirty Dozen’ (1967) was a box-office blockbuster. He followed that up with an equally successful ‘Dark of the Sun’ (1967) which was his first movie as a lead actor. ‘Ice Station Zebra’ (1968), established Jim as the first African-American action star. Some of Jim Brown’s best and top-grossing movies are ‘The Split’ (1968), ‘100 Rifles’ (1969), ‘El Condor’ (1970), ‘... tick ... tick ... tick ...’ (1970), and ‘Mars Attacks!’ (1996).
‘Slaughter’ (1972) and ‘Slaughter's Big Rip-Off’ (1973), released during the ‘blaxploitation’ era were his highest earning movies. ‘The Running Man’ (1987) was probably his last major box-office success. Later in his career, Jim Brown starred in his worst movies like ‘L.A. Heat’ (1989), ‘Original Gangstas’ (1996), and ‘He Got Game’ (1998).
