Rod Taylor was an Australia-born Hollywood actor. He is known for starring in more than 50 American films, including ‘The Time Machine’ (1960), ‘One Hundred and One Dalmatians’ (1961), ‘36 Hours’ (1965), and ‘The Hell with Heroes’ (1968). He started his entertainment career as a radio and stage artist in Australia, before making his feature film debut in Australian film ‘King of the Coral Sea,’ in 1954. In the same year, he was awarded the ‘Rola Show Australian Radio Actor of the Year Award,’ which became his ticket to Hollywood. He soon appeared in TV shows such as ‘Studio 57’ (1955), ‘Suspicion’ (1957) , and ‘The Twilight Zone’ (1959), before he had his first leading Hollywood role in the film ‘The Time Machine,’ in 1960. His other popular films include ‘The Birds’ (1963), ‘Chuka’ (1967), ‘The Train Robbers’ (1973), ‘Point of Betrayal’ (1995), and ‘Inglourious Basterds’ (2009).
