James Doohan was a Canadian actor, comedian, and author. He is best known for playing ‘ Montgomery "Scotty" Scott’ in the popular TV and film series ‘Star Trek’ (1966 -1992). He served in the military before entering the world of entertainment. He worked in radio for a while, before taking-up acting. He made his acting debut as ‘Peter’ in the TV anthology series ‘Suspense’ in 1951. He made his feature film debut in ‘The Wheeler Dealers’ (1956). Some of his popular TV shows include ‘General Motors Theatre’ (1953-61), ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E.’ (1964 -1966), ‘Star Trek’ (1966-1969),’ Jason of Star Command’ (1978), ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ (1992), and ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (1996 – 1997). Some of his popular films are ‘Star Trek: The Motion Picture’ (1979), ‘Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home’ (1986), ‘Star Trek Generations’ (1994), ‘Bug Buster’ (1998), and ‘The Duke’ (1999).
