Christopher Lloyd made his big-screen debut with the 1975 comedy-drama film ‘One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest’ directed by Miloš Forman. The film earned critical acclaim and went on to become the third top-grossing film in 1975. The following year, Lloyd made his television debut with the miniseries, ‘The Adams Chronicles.’ In 1978, Lloyd starred as ‘Jim Ignatowski’ in the television sitcom ‘Taxi.’ He earned global recognition for his role and bagged two ‘Emmy Awards’ for his performance in the series.
Lloyd went on to star in films like ‘The Onion Field’ (1979), ‘The Legend of the Lone Ranger’ (1981), and ‘To Be or Not to Be’ (1983). In 1984, he starred as ‘Commander Kruge’ in the Leonard Nimoy-directed science fiction film ‘Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.’ The film received mostly positive reviews from critics and did decent business at the box office. In 1985, Christopher Lloyd starred in the science fiction film ‘Back to the Future’ where he played his famous role of ‘Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown.’ He reprised his role as ‘Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown’ in ‘Back to the Future Part II’ (1989), ‘Back to the Future Part III’ (1990), and ‘Back to the Future: The Ride’ (1991).
In 1991, Lloyd starred as ‘Uncle Fester/Gordon Craven‘ in the supernatural black comedy film ‘The Addams Family.’ The film became a massive critical and box office success. Christopher Lloyd returned as ‘Uncle Fester/Gordon Craven‘ in the 1993 sequel to ‘The Addams Family,’ ‘Addams Family Values.’ That same year, he played the role of ‘Jimmy’ in the comedy-drama film ‘Twenty Bucks’ for which he won the ‘Independent Spirit Award’ for ‘Best Supporting Male.’
Christopher Lloyd continued to appear in films such as ‘Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead’ (1995), ‘My Favorite Martian’ (1999), ‘Bad Girls from Valley High’ (2005), ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ (2010), and ‘Mickey Matson and the Copperhead Conspiracy’ (2012). He was last seen in the 2021 romantic comedy film ‘Queen Bees’ directed by Michael Lembeck. Christopher Lloyd will be next seen in the upcoming drama film ‘The Tender Bar.’
