Leonard Simon Nimoy began his screen-career with a minor role in ‘Queen For A Day’ (1951). After several small parts, he played the lead in ‘Kid Monk Baroni’ (1952).
Nimoy played supporting roles in several series, including ‘Perry Mason’ and ‘Dragnet,’ and movies ‘Them,’ (1954), ‘The Brain Eaters’ (1958), and ‘The Balcony’ (1963). He co-produced and starred in the drama-film ‘Deathwatch’ (1965). His other appearances of the period include series, such as ‘Sea Hunt’ (1958-1960), ‘Wagon Train’ (1961-1962), ‘Bonanza’ (1960), ‘Rawhide’ (1961), ‘The Untouchables’ (1962), ‘Gunsmoke’ (1962), ‘Combat’ (1963), and many others.
Nimoy received popularity and nominations with breakthrough role as half-human/half-Vulcan ‘Spock’ in ‘Star Trek’ (1966-1969), ‘Star Trek Animated Series’ (1973-1974), ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ (1987-1994), six ‘Star Trek’ movies, ‘Star Trek Movie’ (2009) and ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ (2013).
Nimoy featured in the spy-series ‘Mission: Impossible’ (1969-1971), ‘Night Gallery’ (1972-1973), ‘Columbo’ (1973), and films, including ‘Catlow’ (1971), ‘Marco Polo’ (1982), amongst others. TV-film ‘A Woman Called Golda’ (1982) earned him nomination.
Nimoy was host-narrator for the series ‘In Search of…’ (1976-1982), and voice-actor for numerous series and documentaries.
Nimoy directed two ‘Star Trek’ movies, and ‘Three Men And a Baby’ (1987), ‘The Good Mother’ (1988), ‘Funny About Love’ (1990), and ‘Holy Matrimony’ (1994).
