Deep Roy first appeared in the 1976 comedy film ‘The Pink Panther Strikes Again’ directed by Blake Edwards. The film received mostly positive reviews from critics and was a major commercial success, grossing over $75 million on a budget of $6 million. Following his debut, he went on to star in films like ‘Benji's Very Own Christmas Story’ (1978), ‘The Muppet Movie’ (1979), and ‘Licensed to Love and Kill’ (1979). In 1980, he starred as ‘Fellini’ in the space opera film ‘Flash Gordon,’ directed by Mike Hodges. The film opened to a positive reception and attained cult status in subsequent years. That same year, he also appeared in yet another epic space opera film ‘The Empire Strikes Back,’ directed by Irvin Kershner. In 2001, he starred in the American science fiction film ‘Planet of the Apes,’ directed by Tim Burton. The film, despite receiving a mixed response from critics, was a box office success and grossed over $362.2 million on a budget of $100 million. Roy was next seen in films like ‘The Haunted Mansion’ (2003), ‘A Man Apart’ (2003), ‘Big Fish’ (2003), ‘Van Helsing’ (2004), ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ (2005), ‘Corpse Bride’ (2005), ‘Star Trek’ (2009), ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ (2009), ‘Zambezia’ (2012), ‘Paranormal Movie’ (2013), ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ (2013), ‘Mantervention’ (2014), and ‘Star Trek Beyond’ (2016).
