Denver Pyle was an American actor, best known for playing ‘Jesse Duke’ in ‘The Dukes of Hazzard’ (1979-1985). He was also quite popular for playing ‘Briscoe Darling Jr.’ in ‘The Andy Griffith Show’ (1960-1966) and ‘Buck Webb’ in ‘The Doris Day Show’ (1968-1970). He started with an uncredited role in the drama film ‘The Guilt of Janet Ames’ (1974). His first significant film role came in ‘To Hell and Back’ (1955). Some of his popular films include ‘Singing Guns’ (1950), ‘Please Murder Me’ (1956), ‘Escape to Witch Mountain’ (1975), and ‘Maverick’ (1994). Some of his popular TV shows include ‘The Range Rider ‘(1951-1953), ‘Frontier‘ (1955-1956), ‘ Route 66‘ (1961,1962), ‘Tammy’ (1965-1966), and  ‘The Dukes of Hazzard’ (1979 -1985). He was honored with a star in the ‘Hollywood Walk of Fame’ in 1997.
