Werner Klemperer was a German-American actor and singer, best known for his role as ‘Colonel Wilhelm Klink’ in the ‘Hogan's Heroes’ (1965-71). He won two ‘Primetime Emmy Awards’ for ‘Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series’ in 1968 and 1969, respectively. He started acted in ‘Broadway’ plays in 1947. He made his screen debut on the TV series ‘Shadow of the Cloak’ (1952). He made his film debut in ‘Flight to Hong Kong’ (1956). His successful films include ‘Istanbul’ (1957), ‘The Goddess’ (1958), ‘Houseboat’ (1958), ‘Operation Eichmann’ (1961), ‘Judgment at Nuremberg’ (1961), ‘Tunnel 28’ (1962), ‘Dark Intruder’ (1965), and ‘Ship of Fools’ (1965). Some of his unsuccessful films are ‘Flight to Hong Kong’ (1956) and ‘The Wicked Dreams of Paula Schultz’ (1968). He also made appearances on TV series, such as ‘The Secret Files of Captain Video’ (1953), ‘Climax!’ (1955), ‘Perry Mason’ (1958), ‘My Three Sons’ (1963), and ‘Mr. Sunshine’ (1986).Â
