Nastassja Kinski is a German actress who has gained fame for her versatile performances in European cinema and Hollywood. Born to actor parents, she made her acting debut as Mignon in ‘The Wrong Move’ (1975).
While continuing to appear in German TV series’ like ‘Tatort’ and ‘Notsignale’ in 1977, she was cast in the Italian movie ‘Stay as You Are’ (1978). It served as her breakthrough role. Nastassja Kinski then delivered her ‘Golden Globe’ (1981) winning best performance in the titular role of ‘Tess’ (1979). She also earned a ‘César Award’ nomination for ‘Cat People’ (1982). Some of Nastassja Kinski’s best movies have been ‘Frühlingssinfonie’ (1983), ‘Maladie d'amour’ (1987), ‘Il segreto’ (1990), ‘In weiter Ferne, so nah!’ (1993), ‘Your Friends & Neighbors’ (1998), ‘The Magic of Marciano’ (2000), and ‘Inland Empire’ (2006).
However, she has also faced failure. ‘The Hotel New Hampshire’ (1984), ‘Unfaithfully Yours’ (1984), ‘Revolution’ (1985), and ‘One Night Stand’ (1997), are Nastassja Kinski’s worst movies. Her best-known TV credits include the voice of Rosa Luxemburg in ‘1914-1918’ (1996) and the recurring role of Madame Maria de Tourvel in ‘Les Liaisons dangereuses’ (2003).
