Award winning Scottish actor and producer Sean Connery was the first ‘James Bond’ in the spy film ‘Dr No’ that was released in 1962. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Jim Malone in the movie ‘The Untouchables’ in 1987. His super hit movies include ‘Marine’ (1964),  ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ (1974), ‘Outland’ (1981), ‘The Name of The Rose’ (1986), ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’ (1989), ‘The Hunt for Red October’ (1990) and ‘Finding Forrester’ (2000). He is a winner of three Golden Globes and two BAFTA awards and has been featured in the video game ‘James Bond 007: From Russia with Love’.Â
Sean Connery did not become a star overnight. He came from a humble background and started life as a milkman. He later joined the Royal Navy but got discharged on medical grounds. He even tried bodybuilding but gave up the sport due to tough competition. Finally he turned to acting where he initially had to struggle to make ends meet. He rose in the industry to establish his own production company, ‘Foundation Films’.  However, in his fading years he had a few misses at the box office like ‘The Fallout’ and ‘The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen’ that prompted him to quit acting in 2007. Â
Sean Connery lives retired life and has been given the title of ‘The Greatest Living Scot’ and the ‘Sexiest Man of the Century’. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in the year 2000 and will remain a legend in cinema for the classics that will be viewed for years to come.
