Anthony Perkins was an American actor and singer. He made his acting debut in ‘The Actress’ (1953). Then he won a ‘Golden Globe’ award and ‘Oscar’ nomination for his portrayal of Josh Birdwell in ‘Friendly Persuasion’ (1956).
In the next few years, Anthony Perkins delivered some of his best acting performances in ‘Fear Strikes Out’ (1957), ‘This Angry Age’ (1958), and ‘Green Mansions’ (1959). In 1960, Anthony Perkins landed his most famous role when he portrayed Norman Bates in Hitchcock’s ‘Psycho’ (1960). He later reprised the role in ‘Psycho II’ (1983) and ‘Psycho III’ (1986) which were commercial and critical hits. ‘Psycho IV’ (1990) was, however, a failure.
Some of Anthony Perkins’ best movies are ‘Goodbye Again’ (1961), ‘Five Miles to Midnight’ (1962), ‘The Trial’ (1962), and ‘Une ravissante idiote’ (1964). In his later years, Anthony Perkins delivered critically acclaimed performances in the TV series ‘Evening Primrose’ (1966) and movies like ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ (1974) and ‘Les Misérables’ (1978). ‘A Demon in My View’ (1991) and ‘In the Deep Woods’ (1992) are two of his worst movies.
