Tia Carrere was first seen in the 1987 Canadian zombie film ‘Zombie Nightmare’ where she played the role of ‘Amy.’ The following year, she starred in the American comedy-drama film ‘Aloha Summer,’ directed by Tommy Lee Wallace. ‘Aloha Summer’ was actually filmed in 1984, making it the debut film of Carrere. She next appeared in films like ‘Fine Gold’ (1989), ‘Enemy’ (1990), ‘Showdown in Little Tokyo’ (1991), ‘Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man’ (1991), ‘Wayne's World’ (1992), ‘Little Sister’ (1992), ‘Rising Sun’ (1993), and ‘Wayne's World 2’ (1993). In 1994, she starred as ‘Juno Skinner’ in the American action comedy film ‘True Lies’ directed by James Cameron. The film received mostly positive reviews from critics and did decent business at the box office. The following year, she was seen in the American courtroom comedy film ‘Jury Duty,’ directed by John Fortenberry. The film was panned by critics and tanked at the box office. She continued to star in films like ‘Hollow Point’ (1996), ‘High School High’ (1996), ‘Kull the Conqueror’ (1997), ‘Top of the World’ (1997), ‘Scar City’ (1998), and ‘20 Dates’ (1998).
In 1999, she joined the main cast of the Canadian television series ‘Relic Hunter’ created by Gil Grant. She played the role of ‘Sydney Fox’ and remained a part of the series until it went off-air in 2002. Carrere went on to appear in several television series and shows, such as ‘Hollywood Squares’ (2000-2001), ‘The Test’ (2001), ‘Duck Dodgers’ (2003-2005), ‘Lilo & Stitch: The Series’ (2003-2006), ‘Johnny Bravo’ (2004), ‘Megas XLR’ (2004), ‘American Dragon: Jake Long’ (2005), ‘The O.C.’ (2006), ‘Dancing with the Stars’ (2006), ‘Nip/Tuck’ (2007), ‘CSI: Miami’ (2009), ‘Warehouse 13’ (2010), ‘True Justice’ (2011), and ‘Combat Hospital’ (2011). In 2011, she joined the voice cast of the American animated mystery comedy-drama series ‘Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated.’ She voiced ‘Amy Cavenaugh/Judy Reeves’ and remained a part of the series until it went off-air in 2013.
Carrere continued to appear on television in ‘Plain Sight’ (2012), ‘Uncle Grandpa’ (2014), ‘Hawaii Five-0’ (2015), ‘Family Guy’ (2016), ‘Mickey and the Roadster Racers’ (2017), ‘Blue Bloods’ (2017), ‘Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters’ (2018), ‘Dollface’ (2019), and ‘AJ and the Queen’ (2020). In 2020, she made an appearance in the American surreal sketch comedy television series ‘The Eric Andre Show.’ She is all set to appear in the upcoming American comedy film ‘Easter Sunday,’ directed by Jay Chandrasekhar.
