Mekhi Phifer is an African-American actor who gained prominence for portraying the role of Dr. Gregg Pratt on the TV series ‘ER’ (2002–2008). The actor started his movie career debuting in ‘The Tuskegee Airmen’ and ‘Clockers’ in 1995.
In the next few years, he landed some roles in movies like ‘High School High’ (1996), ‘Soul Food’ (1996), and ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ (1998). None of the movies were commercial or critical hits. However, his career changed for the better when he was cast in ‘I Still Know What You Did Last Summer’ (1998). The movie was a box office blockbuster. He has since enjoyed a mixed success in his movie career. Mekhi Phifer’s performances in ‘A Lesson Before Dying’ (1998), ‘Shaft’ (2000), and ‘8 Mile’ (2001) were critically praised. ‘Dawn of the Dead’ (2004) was both a critical and box office hit.
He also starred on the TV shows ‘Lie to Me’ (2009–2011) and ‘House of Lies’ (2014). ‘Divergent’ (2014) and ‘The Divergent Series: Insurgent’ (2015) are the highest grossing movies of Mekhi Phifer’s career.
