Rick Moranis is a Canadian comedian and actor renowned for his comedic performances in movies. He started his career on TV with shows like ‘SCTV’ (1980–1981), ‘SCTV Network’ (1981–1982), and ‘Saturday Night Live’.
His first movie roles were in ‘Strange Brew’ (1983) and ‘Streets of Fire’ (1983). Rick Moranis’ most famous role came in 1984 when he starred as Louis Tully in the classic ‘Ghostbusters’. The movie became the highest grossing movie of his career and he went on to reprise the role in ‘Ghostbusters II’ (1987). He achieved similar box office success with ‘Spaceballs’ (1987), ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’ (1989), ‘Parenthood’ (1989), and ‘L.A. Story’ (1991).
While he enjoyed success in many movies, he stopped acting for some time after the death of his wife in 1991. Rick Moranis returned with ‘Honey, I Blew Up the Kid’ (1992) and ‘The Flintstones’ (1994), which were major box office blockbusters. He has also voice acted Rutt in ‘Brother Bear’ (2003) and ‘Brother Bear 2’ (2006).
