Tracy Morgan first appeared in the sketch-comedy show ‘Uptown Comedy Club’ in 1992. The series ran for 2 seasons and went off-air in 1994. In 1996, he made his big-screen debut in the American black comedy-romance film ‘A Thin Line Between Love and Hate’ directed by Martin Lawrence. The film saw mostly negative reviews upon release but managed to gross over $34.8 million on a budget of $8 million. That same year, he became a part of the American late-night live television sketch comedy and variety show ‘Saturday Night Live.’ He appeared in 128 episodes before parting ways from the show in 2003. In 2002, he joined the voice cast of the American television show ‘Crank Yankers.’ He voiced ‘Spoonie Luv’ and remained on the show until 2005. However, he made a return to ‘Crank Yankers’ in 2019. In 2003, he starred as ‘Tracy Mitchell’ in the American sitcom television series ‘The Tracy Morgan Show’ created by David M. Israel and Jim O'Doherty. The show was canceled after season one in 2004. In 2006, Morgan joined the main cast of the American satirical sitcom television series ‘30 Rock’ where he portrayed ‘Tracy Jordan.’ He remained a part of the series until it went off-air in 2013. The show aired a television special in 2020.Â
The year 2008 saw the release of the American superhero parody film ‘Superhero Movie’ where Morgan was seen playing the role of ‘Professor Xavier.’ Even though the film was marred by negative reviews from critics, it managed to emerge as a moderate commercial success. He continued to star in films like ‘G-Force’ (2009), ‘Death at a Funeral’ (2010), ‘Rio’ (2011), ‘The Son of No One’ (2011), ‘Why Stop Now’ (2012), ‘Rio 2’ (2014), ‘The Boxtrolls’ (2014), ‘Accidental Love’ (2015), ‘The Night Before’ (2015), ‘Fist Fight’ (2017), ‘The Clapper’ (2017), ‘The Star’ (2017), ‘What Men Want’ (2019), and ‘Scoob!’ (2020). He was last seen in the 2021 American comedy film ‘Coming 2 America’ directed by Craig Brewer. The film received a mixed response from critics. He will be next seen in the upcoming film ‘Armstrong’ where he will portray ‘Louis Armstrong.’
