Gong Hyo-jin made her screen debut in the 1999 South Korean horror film ‘Memento Mori,’ directed by Kim Tae-yong and Min Kyu-dong. The film was a sequel to the 1998 supernatural horror ‘Whispering Corridors.’ Following her debut, she went on to star in films like ‘Last Present’ (2001), ‘Volcano High’ (2001), ‘Emergency Act 19’ (2002), ‘Conduct Zero’ (2002), ‘Heaven's Soldiers’ (2005), ‘Family Ties’ (2006), ‘My Son’ (2007), ‘Happiness’ (2007), ‘Dachimawa Lee’ (2008), ‘Crush and Blush’ (2008), ‘Sisters on the Road’ (2009), and ‘Rolling Home With a Bull’ (2010). In 2011, she joined the main cast of the South Korean romantic comedy television series ‘The Greatest Love’ as ‘Gu Ae-jung.’ The series aired a total of 16 episodes. Hyo-jin also won the ‘Baeksang Arts Award’ and 2 ‘MBC Drama Awards’ for her performance in the show. That same year, she also made an appearance in the South Korean romantic comedy television series ‘Cool Guys, Hot Ramen.’
She continued to star in television series and shows such as ‘Master's Sun’ (2013), ‘It's Okay, That's Love’ (2014), ‘The Producers’ (2015), and ‘Don't Dare to Dream’ (2016). She portrayed ‘Dong Baek’ in the 2019 South Korean television series ‘When the Camellia Blooms,’ directed by Cha Yeong-hoon. The series was met with positive reviews and became one of the highest-rated Korean dramas of 2019. Hyo-jin became a recipient of the ‘KBS Drama Award’ and the ‘Seoul International Drama Award’ for her portrayal of Dong Baek in the series. She was last seen in the 2022 documentary film ‘Ordinary Courage,’ directed by Goo Min Kyung. Hyo-jin will be next seen in the upcoming South Korean television series ‘Ask the Stars.’
