In this reboot version of the Planet of the Apes series, scientist Will Rodman’s experimental drug for the cure of Alzheimer's disease gives human-like intelligence and emotions to a chimpanzee, Caesar. When Caesar is separated from Will and imprisoned with other apes, he gives the same drug to the them and begins an uprising against humanity.
