Sam Raimi is best known as the creator of the supernatural horror comedy series ‘Evil Dead’ and also as the director of the ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy. His credits as director on the big screen include hits like ‘Darkman’ (1990), ‘Army of Darkness’ (1993), ‘A Simple Plan’ (1998), and ‘Drag Me to Hell’ (2009).
A few of his movies like ‘Boogeyman’ (2005), ‘The Grudge 2’ (2006), and ‘The Messengers’ (2007) failed to make an impact at the box office.
Raimi founded the production company ‘Renaissance Pictures’ in 1979 and produced several successful television series. His series ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ ran from 2015 to 2018 and made him a household name.
‘American Gothic,’ ‘Spartacus,’ and ‘Rake’ series received positive reviews. Raimi received the award for Best Director at the Saturn Awards as well as Empire Awards in 2004. He produced the series ‘Legend of the Seeker’ (2008 – 2010) and ‘Spartacus: Gods of the Arena’ (2011) that received mixed reviews.
