Shelley Catherine Hennig, who won the ‘Miss Louisiana Teen USA 2004’ pageant and then ‘Miss Teen USA 2004’ title, made a guest-appearance in soap-opera ‘Passions’ (2004), followed by MTV’s ‘The Reality Show’ (2005).
Next, Hennig was cast in a regular role as ‘Stephanie Johnson’ in TV soap-opera ‘Days of Our Lives’ (2007-2011, 2017) which brought her ‘Daytime Emmy Award’ nomination (for Outstanding Younger Actress in Drama-Series). She left the series in 2011.
Further, Hennig played the main role as young witch ‘Diana Meade’ in supernatural fantasy teen drama-series ‘The Secret Circle’ (2011-2012). [She played lead in unaired series ‘Friend Me’ (2012)]. In 2013, she appeared in Western crime drama-series ‘Justified’ and had recurring role in teen-sitcom ‘Zach Stone is Gonna be Famous.’ She had a recurring role (in season 3), and then main role (from season4 to end) as ‘Malia Tate’ in supernatural teen drama-series ‘Teen Wolf’ (2014-2017), earning ‘Choice Summer TV Star: Female’ award at ‘Teen Choice Awards 2016.’
Hennig made her feature-film debut in 2014’s supernatural-horror films ‘Ouija,’ and ‘Unfriend.’ The same year, she also appeared in police-procedural TV-series ‘Blue Bloods’ and sitcom ‘Friends with Better Lives.’ She appeared in comedy-drama films ‘About Scout’ (2015) and ‘Summer of 8’ (2016) followed by legal-drama film ‘Roman J. Israel Esq.’ (2017). ‘Hennig played supporting role as ‘Carrie Grey’ in romantic-comedy film ‘When We First Met’ (2018) and as ‘Alicia Levine’ in comedy-film ‘The After Party’ (2018).
Hennig starred as ‘Carly Ambrose’ in comedy-series ‘Liberty Crossing’ (2018) and also appeared in (unaired) pilot of TV-series ‘False Profits’ (2018). She made guest-appearances in comedy streaming TV-series ‘Dollface’ (2019), and ‘Mythic Quest’ (2021). She starred in a recurring role in miniseries ‘The Woman in the House across the Street from the Girl in the Window’ (2022).
Hennig also appeared in music-videos ‘Gentle on my Mind’ (Band Perry), and ‘I Could Use a Love Song’ (Maren Morris). She’ll be seen in upcoming movies ‘Gatlopp,’ ‘Fluxx,’ and ‘The List.’
