Francis Thomas Avallone, professionally known as Frankie Avalon, is an American actor and singer, known for his singles such as ‘Venus’ and ‘Why.’ Both the singles topped the ‘Billboard’ charts in 1959. From 1959 to 1962, Avalon gave numerous hit singles such as ‘Just Ask Your Heart,’ ‘Bobby Sox to Stockings’ and "A Boy Without a Girl.’ About 31 of his singles made to ‘Billboard’s top hits during this time. He made his acting debut in the rock and roll film ‘Jamboree’ (1957). He played a trumpet and sang ‘Teacher’s Pet’ during his small appearance in the film. He made several appearances in films such as ‘Panic in Year Zero!’ (1962), ‘Beach Party’ (1963), ‘Grease’ (1978) and ‘Casino’ (1995). The ex-teen idol also made TV appearances in more than 20 shows including ‘The Eleventh Hour’ (1963), ‘Mr. Novak’ (1963), ‘Love, American Style’ (1971) and ‘Full House’ (1991).
