Eddie Albert was an American actor, best known for his performance as ‘Irving Radovich’ in the film ‘Roman Holiday’ (1953). After graduation, Albert worked as a trapeze performer and a night club singer. He moved to New York in 1933, and took the job of a radio show host. His show ‘The Honeymooners—Grace and Eddie Show’ had a good run of 3 years. After that, he started working as a stage actor. He played lead roles in ‘Broadway’ productions, such as ‘Room Service’ (1937–1938) and ‘The Boys from Syracuse’ (1938–1939). He made his film debut in the 1938 comedy ‘Brother Rat.’ He took a break from performing to serve the U.S Army. After serving the army, he starred in films, such as ‘The Great Mr. Nobody,’ (1941), ‘Ladies' Day,’ (1943), ‘Oklahoma!’ (1955), ‘The Longest Day (1962), and ‘Border Cop’ (1979). He also starred in various TV shows such as ‘Green Acres’ (1965-1971) and ‘Switch’ (1975-1978).Â
