Mitzi Gaynor started her career with Twentieth Century Fox. She made her acting debut in the musical ‘My Blue Heaven’ (1950) as Gloria Adams. This was followed by her first starring role in the musical biopic ‘Golden Girl’ (1951), in which her performance received mixed reviews.
She appeared in the multi-star anthology comedy ‘We’re Not Married’ (1952), followed by the box office hits ‘Bloodhounds of Broadway’ and ‘The I Don’t Care Girl’ the same year.
Her performance was appreciated in ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business’ (1954), ‘Les Girls’ (1957), and ‘South Pacific’ (1958).
Gaynor has also performed at several award ceremonies, including the 1967 Oscar ceremony where she sang the theme song from the film ‘Georgy Girl.’
