Edd Byrnes is best known for his performance as ‘Kookie’ in the popular TV series ‘77 Sunset Strip’ (1958-63). Edd started his acting career as a theatre artist. He made his screen debut in an episode of TV anthology ‘Crossroads,’ in 1956. After working in a few TV series, he moved to Hollywood. He then appeared in the TV series ‘The Adventures of Jim Bowie’ (1956-57). Over the years, he appeared in many TV series and programs, including ‘Maverick’ (1957-60), ‘Love, American Style’ (1970), ‘The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries’ (1978), ‘Fantasy Island’ (1978-82), and ‘Murder, She Wrote’ (1990-95). His first credited film performance came in ‘Johnny Trouble’ (1957). Some of his successful films include ‘Johnny Trouble’ (1957), ‘Marjorie Morningstar’ (1958), ‘Life Begins at 17’ (1958), ‘Grease’ (1978), and ‘Troop Beverly Hills’ (1989). Some of his failed films are ‘Beach Ball’ (1965), ‘Wicked, Wicked’ (1973), and ‘Mankillers’ (1987).
