Bernie Mac was an American actor and comedian known for his comic characters which made him one of the most loved American comedy artists of his time. He made his debut in ‘Mo’ Money’ in the early 90s and reached the peak of his success with starring role in the ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ and its sequels. Some of the most notable Bernie Mac films are ‘Booty Call’, ‘Bad Santa’ and ‘Mrs. 3000’.Â
Bernie became a household name with his ‘The Bernie Mac Show’, which became a national rage right after it started airing in 2001. Bernie received many Emmy Awards for his show. Meanwhile, his filmography further enriched with his humorous roles in ‘Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle’, ‘Guess Who’ and ‘Lil’ Pimp’. Although his career has gone consistently good, he has his shares of box office failures such as ‘Honour Deferred’ and ‘Starting Under’.Â
Bernie also appeared in a funny cameo in the first ‘Transformers’ film and has voiced a character in ‘Madagascar’, which was universally loved. In late 2000’s, Bernie got severely sick due to a rare disease and some of the last films he appeared in, such as ‘Soul Men’, ‘Old Dogs’ and ‘Madagascar 3’ paid homage to the actor.Â
