John Roger Stephens aka John Legend, known more for his accomplishments in music, made his first on-screen appearance with a song performance in ‘Sesame Street’ (2006).
He played a supporting role in musical comedy ‘Soul Men’ (2008), and was part of the documentary-feature film ‘The People Speak’ (2009). Legend was judge on reality music show ‘Duets’ (2012).
He lent his voice in ‘The Savoy King’ (2012), and co-starred and performed soundtrack of comedy ‘La La Land’ (2016). Legend was the producer of ‘Southside with You.’ He provided title role’s voice, and was executive producer-singer for the short animated film ‘Crow: The Legend’ (2017), which won numerous accolades.
Legend portrayed ‘Jesus’ in ‘Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert’ (2018). He was a coach on ‘The Voice’ (2019) wherein he and his artist won the show. In 2020, he was producer for fantasy film ‘Jingle Jangle,’ and executive producer for documentary film ‘A Crime on the Bayou.’ He provided voice for ‘The Mitchells vs the Machines’ (2021).
Legend appeared as himself in several TV series. He starred in Christmas special ‘A Legendary Christmas with John & Chrissy’ (2018).
