Mamie Gummer is an American actress and the eldest daughter of the legendary actress Meryl Streep. She made her film debut at the age of one with the movie ‘Heartburn’, in which she shared screen space with her mother. She debuted onstage when she was 22 in ‘Mr. Marmalade’-an off-Broadway production, winning an award for her performance.
As a grown-up, Mamie made her debut with the film, ‘Hoax’, opposite Richard Gere. Her other notable movies were ‘Evening’, ‘Side Effects’, ‘Cake’, Ricki and the Flash’ and ‘Ward’. Since the time she has been active professionally, she has been part of the main cast in several theater productions including, ‘The Water’s Edge’, ‘The Autumn Garden’, ‘Desdemona: A Play about a Handkerchief’, and ‘The House of Blue Leaves’. Her notable forays in the small screen include appearances in HBO mini-series, ‘John Adams’, ABC medical serial, ‘Off the Map’ and ‘Emily Owens, M.D.’
