John Stamos made his screen debut in the American daytime television soap opera ‘General Hospital’ in 1982. He played the role of ‘Blackie Parrish’ and remained a part of the show until 1984. Stamos also won the ‘Soapy Award’ and ‘Young Artist Award’ for his portrayal of Blackie Parrish. He next starred in television films and shows such as ‘Dreams’ (1984), ‘Alice in Wonderland’ (1985), and ‘Never Too Young to Die’ (1986). He made his big-screen debut in the 1986 American action-adventure comedy film ‘Never Too Young to Die’ directed by Gil Bettman. In 1987, he starred as ‘Jesse Katsopolis’ in the American television sitcom ‘Full House’ created by Jeff Franklin. The series ran for 8 seasons and aired its final episode in 1995. He was next seen in television series and films like ‘The New Mickey Mouse Club’ (1989), ‘Captive’ (1991), ‘The Disappearance of Christina’ (1993), ‘Fatal Vows: The Alexandra O'Hara Story’ (1994), ‘A Match Made in Heaven’ (1997), ‘The Marriage Fool’ (1998), ‘Sealed with a Kiss’ (1999), ‘How to Marry a Billionaire: A Christmas Tale’ (2000), ‘Thieves’ (2001), ‘The Reagans’ (2003), and ‘Jake in Progress’ (2005-2006). In 2005, he joined the lead cast of the American medical drama television series ‘ER’ as ‘Dr. Tony Gates.’ The series aired 331 episodes in a span of 15 seasons before going off-air in 2009.Â
He continued to star in television films and series like ‘Wedding Wars’ (2006), ‘The Two Mr. Kissels’ (2008), ‘Entourage’ (2010), ‘Glee’ (2010-2011), ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ (2011), ‘Secrets of Eden’ (2012), ‘The New Normal’ (2013), ‘Necessary Roughness’ (2013), ‘Galavant’ (2015), and ‘Grandfathered’ (2015-2016). In 2016, he became a part of the American sitcom ‘Fuller House’ where he grabbed the role of ‘Jesse Katsopolis.’ The show ran for 5 seasons and aired its final episode in 2020. He was next seen in television series such as ‘Scream Queens’ (2016), ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ (2017), ‘A Capitol Fourth’ (2017-2020), ‘You’ (2018-2019), ‘Historical Roasts’ (2019), and ‘The Little Mermaid Live!’ (2019). In 2021, he starred as ‘Marvyn Korn’ in the American sports comedy-drama streaming television series ‘Big Shot’ created by David E. Kelley, Dean Lorey, and Brad Garrett. The series was renewed for a second season in October 2022. Stamos last appeared in the American CGI-animated children's television series ‘Mickey Mouse Funhouse’ in 2022.
