Melanie Jayne Lynskey made her debut in the 1994 biographical psychological drama film ‘Heavenly Creatures’ directed by Peter Jackson. The film earned universal acclaim upon release and even received an ‘Academy Award’ nomination for ‘Best Original Screenplay.’ Following her debut, she went on to appear in films like ‘The Frighteners’ (1996), ‘Ever After’ (1998), ‘But I'm a Cheerleader’ (1999), ‘Coyote Ugly’ (2000), and ‘Snakeskin.’ Lynskey made her television debut in 2002 in the American television miniseries ‘Rose Red.’ The following year, she got her breakthrough role as ‘Rose’ in the American television sitcom ‘Two and a Half Men.’ She remained a part of the show until it went off-air in 2015.Â

She was last seen in the 2021 American satirical science fiction comedy film ‘Don't Look Up,’ directed by Adam McKay. The film received a mixed response from critics with some considering it to be the funniest movie of 2021, while others called it a smug and cynical satire.
