Marilyn Manson made his big-screen debut in the 1997 neo-noir film ‘Lost Highway’ where he played the role of a porn actor. While the film received a mixed response from critics upon release, it gained a cult following in the subsequent years. The film was panned by critics and was a box office bomb. However, ‘Jawbreaker’ went on to become a cult classic in later years. In 2002, he appeared on the adult animated sitcom ‘Clone High’ created by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Bill Lawrence. That same year, he was also seen in the documentary film ‘Bowling for Columbine’ directed by Michael Moore. The film garnered praise from critics and was a major commercial success, grossing over $58 million against a budget of $4 million. In 2003, he starred as ‘Christina Superstar’ in the American biographical drama film ‘Party Monster’ directed by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato. The film saw mostly negative reviews upon release and was a commercial failure. Manson was next seen in films like ‘The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things’ (2004), ‘Born Villain’ (2011), and ‘Wrong Cops’ (2013).
After making appearing in television series and shows such as ‘Californication’ (2013), ‘Celebrity Ghost Stories,’ and ‘Once Upon a Time’ (2013), Manson became a part of the American action crime drama television series ‘Sons of Anarchy’ in 2014. He appeared in season 7 of the series and played the role of ‘Ron Tully.’ He next starred as ‘Pope’ in the 2016 American action crime drama film ‘Let Me Make You a Martyr’ directed by Corey Asraf and John Swab. That same year, he also joined the cast of the American supernatural horror television series ‘Salem’ where he played the role of ‘Thomas Dinley.’ Manson remained a part of the show until it went off-air in 2017. He was last seen playing the role of ‘Johan Wengren’ in the American fantasy drama television series ‘American Gods’ in 2021.
