Jacob Basil Anderson made his screen debut in the short film ‘Pool Shark’ (2003). In 2007, he appeared in an episode each of ‘Doctors,’ ‘The Bill,’ and ‘The Whistlblowers,’ and in single episodes of ‘Primeval,’ ‘Casualty,’ and ‘Spooks,’ and TV-film ‘The Things I Haven’t Told You’ (2008).
Anderson made his feature-film debut in the drama film ‘Adulthood’ (2008), a sequel of ‘Kidulthood’ (2006). After appearing in the TV movies ‘West 10 LDN’ (2008) and ‘Gunrush’ (2009), he played ‘Si’ in the thriller-drama film ‘Chatroom’ (2010), ‘Angelo’ in crime-thriller film ‘4.3.2.1’ (2010) and ‘Wesley’ in the TV film ‘Royal Wedding’ (2010). In the TV miniseries ‘Injustice’ (2011), he played ‘Simon,’ a youth from institution for young lawbreakers.
Anderson made guest appearances in the TV sitcom ‘Outnumbered’ (2011), teen comedy-drama series ‘Skins’ (2012), crime drama series ‘Silent Witness’ (2012), and comedy-drama series ‘Beaver Falls’ (2012). He had a starring role as ‘Ricky’ in the teen slasher film ‘Demons Never Die’ (2011) and the lead role in the urban horror film ‘Comedown’ (2012). He also appeared in short films ‘The Swarm’ (2011), ‘Paper Mountains’ (2012) and ‘The Super Recognizer’ (2017).
Anderson appeared in multiple episodes of sitcom ‘Episodes’ (2012) and ‘The Mimic’ (2013-2014). He joined the cast of the fantasy drama TV series ‘Game of Thrones’ in its third season as ‘Grey Worm,’ the (recurring) role he is known for, and continued up to season 8, in which he was part of the main cast.
Anderson appeared in the action film ‘Offender’ (2021), played ‘Dean Thomas’ in 6 episodes of the crime drama series ‘Broadchurch’ (2013), and had a recurring role as ‘Vinder’ in the sci-fi series ‘Doctor Who’ series 13 (2021-2022). He played ‘Private Detective Dawson’ in the action-horror film ‘Overlord’ (2018). In the upcoming gothic-horror drama TV-series ‘Interview with the Vampire’ (2022), he plays the main role as ‘Louis de Pointe du Lac.’
Anderson has also worked in various theater productions, including ‘Dunsinane,’ ‘King Lear,’ ‘War Horse,’ amongst others. As a musician (as Raleigh Richie), he has two albums ‘You’re A Man Now, Boy’ (2016) and ‘Andy’ (2020) to his credit.
