Nicholas Hoult made his film debut at the age of 5 in the 1996 comedy-drama ‘Intimate Relations,’ directed by Philip Goodhew. That same year, he also made his television debut in the British medical drama series, ‘Casualty.’ He went on to appear in television series like ‘Silent Witness’ (1998), ‘The Ruth Rendell Mysteries’ (1999), ‘The Bill’ (2000), ‘Doctors’ (2001), and ‘Waking the Dead’ (2001). In 2002, he starred as ‘Marcus Brewer’ in the romantic comedy-drama film ‘About a Boy.’ He was widely praised for his performance in the film and won the ‘Online Film & Television Association Award’ and ‘Phoenix Film Critics Society Award’
After making brief appearances in television series like ‘Judge John Deed’ (2002), ‘Murder in Mind’ (2002), ‘Keen Eddie’ (2004), and ‘Coming Down the Mountain’ (2007), Hoult joined the main cast of the teen comedy-drama television ‘Skins’ in 2007. He played the role of ‘Tony Stonem’ and remained a part of the show till 2008. In 2010, he was seen playing the role of ‘Eusebios’ in the action-fantasy film ‘Clash of the Titans,’ directed by Louis Leterrier. The film received a negative response from critics but was a major box office success, grossing over $493.2 million on a budget of $125 million.
In the 2011 superhero film ‘X-Men: First Class,’ Hoult played the role of Henry "Hank" McCoy / Beast. The film opened to positive reviews from critics and was a commercial success. Hoult reprised his role as "Hank" McCoy / Beast in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ (2014), ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ (2016), ‘Deadpool 2’ (2018), and ‘Dark Phoenix’ (2019). In 2021, he starred in the American neo-Western film ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’ directed by Taylor Sheridan. The film received positive reviews from critics. Hoult is all set to appear in the upcoming American dark comedy thriller film ‘The Menu.’
