Jon Kortajarena made his acting debut in the 2009 American period romantic drama film ‘A Single Man’ directed by Tom Ford. The film saw its premiere at the 66th Venice International Film Festival and was mostly well-received by critics. It was also a decent box office success and grossed over $25 million on a budget of $7 million. He was next seen in the 2016 Helena Taberna-directed thriller romance film ‘Acantilado’ where he played the role of ‘Julián.’ In 2017, he starred as ‘Guille’ in the Spanish drama film ‘Skins’ directed by Eduardo Casanova. That same year, he also played the role of ‘Felix Cordova’ in the American thriller drama television series ‘Quantico’ created by Joshua Safran. He next portrayed ‘Jeffrey Aspern’ in the 2018 Julien Landais-directed period drama, ‘The Aspern Papers.’ The film was panned by critics and received a 19% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The same year, Kortajarena became a part of the Spanish domestic noir television series ‘La verdad’ where he played the role of ‘Marcos Eguía.’ The series received a lackluster response from viewers and was wrapped up after 16 episodes.
In 2019, he joined the main cast of the Spanish mystery series ‘High Seas’ created by Ramón Campos and Gema R. Neira. He played the role of ‘Nicolás Vázquez’ and remained a part of the show until it went off-air in 2020. He next portrayed ‘Corin Vladvitch’ in the 2020 American romantic musical fantasy comedy film ‘Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga’ directed by David Dobkin. The film received mixed to positive reviews from critics and scored a 63% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Around the same time, he also made an appearance on the American science fiction drama television series, ‘Tales from the Loop.’ He last appeared on the Spanish reality competition streaming television series ‘Drag Race España’ in 2021.
