Kevin Bacon made his film debut in the 1978 comedy film ‘National Lampoon's Animal House’ directed by John Landis. The film received universal acclaim upon release and was a phenomenal box office success, grossing over $141.6 million against a budget of $3 million. ‘National Lampoon's Animal House’ is credited with defining the gross-out genre of films. In 1980, he starred as ‘Jack Burrell’ in the independent slasher film ‘Friday the 13th.’ The film had the critics divided with some praising its cinematography and performance while others criticized the movie’s graphic violence.
