Emma Roberts began her acting career with the 2001 American biographical crime film ‘Blow,’ where she played the role of ‘Kristina Jung.’ The film received mixed reviews and was a moderate success at the box office. In 2004, Roberts got her breakthrough role as ‘Addie Singer’ in the American teen sitcom ‘Unfabulous.’ The show ran for 3 years, from September 2004 to December 2007.
In 2006, she starred in the Canadian adventure comedy film ‘Spymate’ directed by Robert Vince. The movie opened to negative reviews from critics with Maria Llull of Common Sense Media calling it both predictable and confusing at the same time. That same year, she also appeared in the American fantasy romantic comedy film ‘Aquamarine’ which was an average box office success. Roberts went on to star in films like ‘Nancy Drew’ (2007), ‘Wild Child’ (2008), ‘Hotel for Dogs’ (2009), ‘Valentine's Day’ (2010), ‘It's Kind of a Funny Story’ (2010), and ‘Scream 4’ (2011).
In 2013, Roberts appeared in the role of ‘Madison Montgomery’ in ‘American Horror Story: Coven,’ the third season of the FX horror anthology television series ‘American Horror Story.’ She went on to appear in ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ (2014-2015), ‘American Horror Story: Cult’ (2017), ‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’ (2018), and ‘American Horror Story: 1984’ (2019). In 2021, Roberts appeared as a guest judge in the Episode: "Rumerican Horror Story: Coven Girls" of the American reality show ‘RuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars.’
Emma Roberts will be next seen in the upcoming American romantic comedy film ‘About Fate’ directed by Marius Weisberg. The film is a remake of the 1976 Soviet television film ‘The Irony of Fate.’
