David Walliams made his debut in the children's game show ‘Incredible Games’ in 1994. He gave voice in 14 episodes of the show. He went on to make his big-screen debut in the 1997 comedy film ‘Clancy's Kitchen’ directed by Duncan Roy. He next appeared in television series and films like ‘It's Ulrika!’ (1997), ‘Alexei Sayle's Merry-Go-Round’ (1998), ‘Barking’ (1998), ‘You Are Here’ (1998), ‘Bang, Bang, It's Reeves and Mortimer’ (1999), and ‘Spaced’ (1999). In 1999, he became a part of the British television comedy show ‘Rock Profile’ created by Matt Lucas and David Walliams. The series ran for 3 seasons and went off-air in 2022. Walliams continued to appear in television series and shows such as ‘The Strangerers’ (2000), ‘Black Books’ (2000), ‘Fun at the Funeral Parlour’ (2001), ‘World of Pub’ (2001), ‘Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)’ (2001), ‘Time Gentlemen Please’ (2002), ‘The Bill’ (2002), and ‘Look Around You’ (2002-2005). In 2003, he came together with Matt Lucas to create the British sketch comedy series ‘Little Britain.’ The series ran for 3 seasons and aired its final episode in 2007. Walliams also became a recipient of 3 ‘BAFTA TV Awards’ and 2 ‘British Comedy Awards’ for the show. He was also seen in television series and films like ‘Hustle’ (2004), ‘Agatha Christie's Marple’ (2004), ‘Samantha, oups!’ (2004), ‘Waking the Dead’ (2005), ‘Hotel Babylon’ (2007), ‘Neighbours’ (2007), and ‘Capturing Mary’ (2007).
In 2008, he voiced ‘Bulgy Bear’ in the fantasy film ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian’ directed by Andrew Adamson. The film received mostly positive reviews and grossed over $419.7 million on a budget of $225 million. He starred as ‘Anton Harrison’ in the 2010 American live-action comedy film ‘Marmaduke’ directed by Tom Dey. The film was largely panned by critics earning a 9% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. He went on to star in films like ‘The Itch of the Golden Nit’ (2011), ‘Great Expectations’ (2012), ‘Justin and the Knights of Valour’ (2013), ‘Pudsey the Dog: The Movie’ (2014), ‘Missing Link’ (2019), and ‘Murder Mystery’ (2019). In 2021, he played the role of ‘Losberne’ in the British crime film ‘Twist’ directed by Martin Owen. The film saw mostly negative reviews upon release.
