Colin Jost first appeared on television in 2002 as a contestant in the television game show ‘Weakest Link.’ In 2005, he joined the television sketch comedy and variety show ‘Saturday Night Live.’ He is still a part of ‘SNL’ and also serves as the head writer of the show for which he has won 5 ‘Writers Guild of America Awards for Comedy/Variety (including talk) series.’ Jost has also earned several nominations for ‘Primetime Emmy Award.’
In 2006, he became a part of the animated television series ‘Kappa Mikey’ as a writer. He wrote 7 episodes for the series. In 2017, he joined the cast of the limited-run series ‘Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday’ as a co-anchor and head writer. In 2018, he hosted the ‘70th Primetime Emmy Awards.’ Following this, Colin Jost continued to make small appearances in television shows like ‘WWE Raw’ (2019), ‘WrestleMania 35’ (2019), ‘Impractical Jokers: Dinner Party’ (2020), and ‘RuPaul's Drag Race’ (2021).
As a stand-up comedian, Jost has appeared on ‘Light Night with Jimmy Fallon’ and at various ‘Just for Laughs’ festivals across Chicago and Montreal. He has also appeared in films such as ‘How to Be Single’ (2016) and ‘Tom & Jerry’ (2021). He was last seen in the 2021 comedy film ‘Coming 2 America’ directed by Craig Brewer. He played the role of ‘Calvin Duke’ in the film.
