Angel Leonie Coulby, who earned ‘The Laurence Olivier Bursary’ at her university, made her screen debut in TV-miniseries ‘Orrible’ (2001) as ‘Shiv’ and also appeared in paranormal reality-series ‘Scariest Places on Earth’ (2001). The next year she was seen in TV-series ‘Casualty,’ ‘Having it off,’ and TV-film ‘A Good Thief’ (all 2002).

She also appeared in comedy-film ‘Magicians’ (2007) and TV-film ‘Secret Life’ (2007).
Coulby was cast in the main-role as ‘Guinevere ‘Gwen,’ a proficient queen in her later life,’ in all 5 seasons of fantasy-adventure drama-series ‘Merlin’ (2008-2012), which brought her name. Next she played lead-role as ‘jazz singer Jessie’ in drama-series ‘Dancing on the Edge’ (2013), followed by another main-role as ‘Laura Roebuck’ in crime-drama TV-series ‘The Tunnel’ (2013-2018).
Coulby provided voice as ‘Tanusha’ in animated sci-fi TV-show ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’ (2015-2020) and further appeared in TV-series including ‘Undercover,’ ‘Hooten & The Lady,’ ‘Man in an Orange Shirt,’ and short-film ‘Body Slam’ (2017).
Coulby played main-role as ‘Det. Insp. Cathy Hudson’ in anthology TV-series ‘Innocent’ (2018), and as ‘Investigator Vanessa Okoye’ in thriller miniseries ‘Suspicion’ (2022). Rupert Goold’s theater production ‘Albion,’ in which she performed as ‘Anna,’ was filmed and broadcast on TV in 2020. Next, she’ll be seen in the drama-series ‘The Net’ (2022).
