Katie McGrath made her debut in the 2007 television film ‘Damage’ in which she played the role of ‘Rachel.’ The following year, she joined the main cast of the fantasy-adventure drama television series ‘Merlin’ as ‘Morgana Pendragon.’ She earned a lot of praise for her performance in the series and bagged two ‘Monte-Carlo Television Festival’ nominations for ‘Outstanding Actress - Drama Series.’ She was next seen in the 2009 drama-documentary titled ‘The Queen’ where she was seen portraying ‘Princess Margaret.’
In 2011, McGrath starred as ‘Thelma, Lady Furness’ in the historical romantic drama film ‘W.E’ directed by Madonna. The film was panned by critics and failed to perform at the box office. That same year, she also appeared in the television film ‘A Princess for Christmas.’ She played the role of ‘Jules Daly’ for which she won a ‘Movieguide Award’ nomination. After making brief appearances in ‘Labyrinth’ (2012) and ‘Dates’ (2013), McGrath joined the cast of the British-American horror drama television series ‘Dracula’ in 2013. She remained a part of the show till 2014.
In 2016, she starred as ‘Sarah Bennett’ in the horror television series ‘Slasher.’ That same year, she also joined the cast of ‘Supergirl’ as ‘Lena Luthor.’ The show aired its final episode in November 2021. Apart from television series, McGrath has also featured in films like ‘Jurassic World’ (2015), ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ (2017), and ‘Buttons’ (2018).
McGrath was last seen in the 2019 six-part Australian television miniseries ‘Secret Bridesmaids' Business’ in which she played the role of ‘Saskia de Merindol.’
